LET GO

The hardest part of loving is in the letting go.
Deciding that it's over hurts more than you know.
Don't want to walk away even though you know you should.
It gets harder to remember how it felt when things were good.
You keep wondering what happened and you miss your best friend.
Where did it all go wrong? Why does it have to end?
Hearts have been torn apart; many hurtful words said.
Promises broken, lies have been lied, now the trust is dead.
You feel so alone; you cry yourself to sleep at night.
You can't Be together without it ending in a fight.
The cold, hard truth stings when the reality sets in.
So, bring your head out of the clouds, you'll be alone again.
It wasn't supposed to end like this & you're sad it didn't last.
You remind yourself the pain will end; soon be in your past.
You try to hide the tears as you go your separate ways.
You turn and take your first few steps toward better, brighter days.
If given the chance, you'd love again but this time you would know-
